Call OF Duty World at War Game Review: "Call of Duty World at War" is a 1st person shooter video game. It has been developed by Treyarch. The game was published by Activision. It is playable on Wii, PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Call Of Duty World At War is generally considered to be the 5th mainstream game of the series & returns the setting to World War 2. The game has been released on 11th of November, 2008 in North America, and on 14th of November, 2008 in Europe. A Windows Mobile version of Call Of Duty World At War was made available by Glu Mobile & different storyline versions for the PlayStation 2 and Nintendo DS were also produced, but remain in the World War 2 setting. It is based on an enhanced version of the Call of Duty 4 game engine that was developed by Infinity Ward with increased development on visual and audio effects. The narrative for the PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Wii, and Xbox 360 versions focuses on the Pacific & Eastern Front theatres of World War 2, involving the US, the Soviet Union, the Empire of Japan, and Nazi Germany. It was told from the perspectives of Marine Raider Private C. Miller, Red Army soldier Private Dimitri Petrenko, and US Navy Petty Officer Locke is based on several historical battles. The game's multiplayer component contains various modes of games & a leveling system, allowing the player to unlock additional rewards and weapons as they advance the game. The game is also consist of downloadable content named Map packs, which can be easily purchased online. A new feature to the series that has been added to the Call Of Duty World At War, is the addition of a Cooperative mode, which supports up to 2 players locally and about four players online.
Call OF Duty World at War GamePlay: Call of Duty World at War features a more mature theme than its previous games. It is an open-ended game, providing the player multiple ways to complete objectives. The gameplay shares several unique features with previous iterations of the franchise. Players are required to fight alongside AI-controlled teammates. They help the player during the missions by providing cover fire, shooting down enemies & clearing rooms for entry. The game's World War 2 era warfare reintroduces weapons & technology that have been seen in many other games in the Call of Duty franchise such as Thompson submachine gun, the Mosin–Nagant rifle, the M1 Garand Rifle, and the Panzerschreck anti-tank rocket launcher. The player will gain access to these over the game course, but may only carry up to 2 weapons in addition to hand grenades. Weapons & ammo from friendlies or fallen foes can be picked up to replace weapons in an arsenal of player. Weapons with additional attachments can be found. These additional weapons include guns equipped with rifle grenades, bayonets and telescopic sights. Thegame character can be positioned in one of three stances: standing, prone or crouching; each affects the character's movement rate, stealth and accuracy.
