Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark Game Review: Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark is a combat fligth simulator game, developed by Eagle Dynamics and published by The Fighter Collection. The game uses The Fighter Collection Simulation Engine. Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark is available on PC only. The game was 1st release on 17th of October, 2008 in Russia, on 7th of March,2009 in Germany and on 2nd of April, 2009 in North America. On 10th of December, 2008 English-language downloadable version was released. Announcement regarding the game was made that the DCS would usher in a new era of high fidelity flight simulations where realism, & accuracy was to be king again. DCS: Black Shark is the 1st combat helicopter since Longbow 2 was released back on 30th of November, 1997, simulation fans were more than ready for something new. The Eagle Dynamics kept the interest level at high throttle by releasing informative Producer's Notes which were an enticing group of videos & select technical pages with some relevant screen shots. The promotion in the Russian homeland had been significant for some time. DCS: Black Shark hits the home Russian market flying in the month pf October. Once it released, the rest of the world anxiously awaited the localization process.
Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark GamePlay: In Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark, the simulated cockpit contains all switches of the real helicopter & is almost fully interactive. Most of the buttons & switches can be operated with the mouse. Additionally there are around five hundred keyboard commands, with the majority giving the user direct control over those cockpit switches. The Ka-50, a ground attack aircraft, there is a greater focus on ground units than in Eagle Dynamics' previous titles. In Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark, new ground units include infantry.
Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark Game Graphics: Graphically, Digital Combat Simulator: Black Shark is stunning. The outside viewing distance is so huge that Eagle has not over-populated it for fear of frame rate hassles. The aircraft & ground vehicles & ground installations are impressively detailed. Indeed, each little truck & jeep & tank is adorned with little drivers, little tires with little treads, little headlights, & even little rear view mirrors. It is an awesome show to be sure.
