Pepsi Cricket 2011 Game Review: Cricket Revolution is a multiplayer cricket game developed by the Indie developer Mindstorm Studios, based in Lahore, Pakistan, making Cricket Revolution the 1st ever commercialized video game which has been developed in Pakistan. The fact is that its an indie game which made it an attractive prospect to me, because the general standard of normal cricket game is pretty poor. EA’s licensed cricket games have always been a disappointment, & the last Brian Lara game was released in the year 2007, so a newer game is always a plus. Pepsi is the favorite beverage of Pakistan, amplifying the Cricket celebration by the Pepsi Cricket Revolution event. Pepsi in partnership with Helium started activation in major malls & market places of Pakistan to connect with the cricket fans via a locally developed computer game, named ‘Pepsi Cricket Challenge’. The Pepsi Cricket Revolution event is being held in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore Gaming zones. Pepsi Cricket Revolution Challenge brought the biggest Gaming tournament in Pakistan. Players practice and participate in the selection round via partner Gaming Zones in Karachi,Islamabad & Lahore. If the scores of player are among the Top fifty Contestants, he'll be selected to participate in the knockout rounds of Pepsi Cricket Revolution, giving the cricket lovers a chance to win cricket related gifts and rewards with the highest scorer having the chance to win cash prizes; 1st Prize of Rs. 100,000, 2nd Prize of Rs.50,000 and the 3rd Prize of Rs.25,000. Prizes are given to top 3 participants from each City. The campaign has been received amazing response throughout the nation. Good cricket games are fairly hard to come by, when I was scouring the Steam sale of last month, the game Cricket Revolution caught my eye. At only 1 pound, it had to be worth a go. I would be supporting an indie developer, & it give me something to do for a few short hours. Usually retailing at £3.99, The main crux of the game is the ability to play the game online, with other opponents. However, it is rather difficult to play online when there are 25,000 people registered with the online server.
