Serious Sam 3 Bfe Jewel OF The Nile Game Review: Serious Sam 3 Before the First Encounter 2011 is an FPS shooter game created by Croteam while published by Developer Digital. Serious Sam 3 is the new game in the Serious Sam series and a prequel to Serious Sam TFE. The game is set in the twenty second century, during Mental's attack on Earth, as shown in The First Encounter. The game begins in Egypt and features a sixteen player co-operative campaign game mode, along with a four player split screen. The game was launched in October, 2012 on Xbox Live Arcade, November, 2011 for Windows OS, while the PS3 version launch date have not been announced yet. The Linux Operating System version was made available through the Linux Steam. Serious Sam 2011 serves as a prequel to the true Serious Sam The First Encounter and shows the events on Earth before Sam's travel into the past. Pre-2060 A.D, humanity had slowly began unearthing archaeological artifacts and ruins left behind in old times by the Sirians, the famous and the supposedly long extinct race from the region of Sirius. Bad for the Earthlings, Mental has selected this time to turn his wrath upon Earth. He sends his space fleet carrying his huge hordes to invade Earth, leading a 3-year campaign that has driven humanity nearly to the point of extinction. In a desperate effort, the survivors turn their attention upon the Time-Lock. A recently excavated device said to be capable of granting one person the capability of time travel through an inter-dimensional portal. Through it, that particular person could reach a crucial instant of time and alter the events of the past. Like previous games in this series, Serious Sam BFE involves battling against various hordes of enemies in wide-open surroundings. However Serious Sam 2011 has more closed environments than its predecessor games in the series, particularly in the early stages. There are also a great number of enemies which can shoot the player from a distance. The player has the ability to carry an unlimited amount of weapons which includes a assault rifle, cannon, rocket launcher and a minigun. There are a total of thirteen weapons. Five of those have a manual reload option. This is a significant change in this game series, as the previous Serious Sam games in the series only had one manual reloading weapon, the pistol. The classical melee weapons from the first game, the chainsaw and knife, have been replaced with a sledgehammer with 3 modes of attack.
