Enemy Engaged 2 Game Review: Enemy Engaged 2 was developed by Gameyus Interactive. It has done little to establish this as an independent game, which is going so far as to reprint original manual here as part of the on-disc PDF documentation. This seems to be a verbatim copy of the 7 year-old manual, right down to call the game Comanche Versus Hokum the way through even though the subtitle was dropped from the name of this follow-up. While piloting a chopper into combat is not as insanely hard as it would seem, the sim like this is in desperate need of an interactive mission that guides the player through all of the ins & outs. Manual actually does a reasonably good job of detailing the steps needed to hover, take off, & run the helicopter through basic flight maneuvers, but it does bit to prepare the player for combat. The player should expect to meet terra firma often during his first few hours with the game. The 3 dynamic campaigns remain intense & involving. In Enemy Engaged 2, there is a serious been-there, done-that vibe goes on because only the Korean campaign is actually new. Even though the Lebanese & Chinese campaigns seem like straight rehashes from the earlier game, they reward the replays because of the dynamic structure that hits the player with all sorts of realistic mission offers. These missions include reconnaissance flights, probing raids into unknown enemy-held territory, escorts, direct attacks on missile sites, & so forth. The best part of the structure is the fluidity of the battlefields. The player might be heading off on a run-of-the-mill escort & spot a couple of batteries ripe for the plucking. Or the player might be on a routine patrol & catch sight of an enemy destroyer that looks vulnerable. Best of all, if the player goes off the reservation to blow up a key enemy target, such as a base or a capital ship, Enemy Engaged 2 recognizes this achievement & structures follow-up missions around it. The constant radio messages also relay that the player is involved in a wide-ranging war because the playe cannot complete a mission without hearing chatter about tanks being destroyed elsewhere or the enemy armor columns being discovered on recon missions to other sections of the front. Because of the atmosphere of never knowing what the player going to encounter after he kick off the wheel brakes, it is easy to get addicted & rip through one mission after another for hours.
