Rage Game Review: Rage is a 1st person shooting video game. It was developed by id Software. The game uses the company's OpenGL, which is based on id Tech 5 engine. Rage has been released in the month of October, 2011. It was the 1st which had shown as a tech demo on 11th of June, 2007 at the "Apple Worldwide Developers Conference" abbreviated as WWDC, and had officially announced on 2nd of August, 2007 at QuakeCon. A trailer for the game was released by GameTrailers on the same day. The game is set in a post apocalyptic near future, which follows the impact of the asteroid 99942 Apophis on Earth. The game is described as similar to the movie "Mad Max 2" & to video games such as Borderlands and Fallout. Influences on the racing and driving gameplay include games such as Burnout and MotorStorm. Cars can be upgraded with racing certificates that has won from races by the players.
Rage GamePlay: The game consists of 1st person shooter & driving segments primarily, with the player using the vehicle provided to him in order to explore the world & travel between missions. Combat is undertaken from a 1st person perspective. The player has armed with a variety of firearms which are upgradeable,and boomerang like weapons called "wingsticks" which are used for stealthy attacks, and a crossbow is also provided. There are many types of ammunition available for each weapon, which allows the player to further customize her or his playing style. There are 2 standard varieties of enemies, melee enemies which will charge the player and attack with melee weapons and enemies with firearms that take cover & exchange fire with the player. The player can participate in a variety of vehicular events, including checkpoint rallies and races. There may or may not be opponents in racing event, and if there are, some of them will armed races while others will not. Players can augment their cars with upgrades and various items and they can gain by completing selected events. Rage features some role playing game elements, such as looting system, inventory system, and different types of Ammo. Players are given the option to customize their vehicles and weapons, as well as build an assortment of items using collected recipes. There are a number of minor exploratory elements and side missions in the game to play.
