The Showdown Effect Free Game

The Showdown Effect Game ReviewThe Showdown Effect takes the player back the gaming history. To the 80s, in fact, where games like Rush 'n Attack, Contra, & Spy vs. Spy defined the sidescrolling combat game. May Spy vs. Spy's traps, map and bombs, warping elevator served as inspiration for the same sort of mechanics in the game, The Showdown Effect, but these sort of capers evoke the same sort of mischievous fun, albeit at a breakneck pace. In addition, players can slip through grates by jumping downward from the elevator, double tap the A or D keys to quickly tumble away or toward from an opponent, jump & hold the A or D keys to slide down slowly a wall while aiming. Shift throw the weapon in player's hand, right mouse blocks, & Crtl triggers special ability of the player. Hit B to bandage at any time. In addition to weapon each of the game's eight unique characters comes with a baked in plot, an assortment of adapted 1-liners to trot out constantly, & a unique special ability. Magicka has introduced a novel skill based mechanic for combining all elements into powerful spellcast, the game offers a simple and powerful mechanic for making sure ranged weapons are not completely overpowered: you've to aim not just in the general direction of target, but at target. Click ahead or behind the target & you'll miss. It takes some getting used to, especially if you are thinking in 2D, but you will know you are hitting by the spatter on the walls & ceiling. There are melee weapons & thrown weapons. Thrown weapons hit anything in their path, & it is useful tactic to carry one around just to quick attack and short circuit to opponent's charge. Thrown & melee weapons works so well, they seem a touch overpowered compared to slow firing, but hard to aim ranged weaponry. The Showdown Effect has impressive graphics. The animations & effects are just as exaggerated as they are fluid, makes a relatively hiccup free-play experience.
