Total War: Rome 2 Game Review: Total War: Rome 2 is an strategy game. It was developed by The Creative Assembly & published by Sega. The game is suppoed or planned to be released in the second half of the year 2013 for Microsoft Windows. Pan Macmillan & Thomas Dunne Books have purchased the rights from The Creative Assembly to publish a series of novels based on the game Total War: Rome 2, confirmed by The Bookseller website. The author David Gibbins has been tasked to write the aforementioned novel series. The 1st of the novels will be released in the month of October. The 8th standalone game in the Total War series of video games, Rome 2 is a successor to the year 2004 game Rome: Total War.
Total War: Rome 2 GamePlay: Total War: Rome 2 is set in classical antiquity & focus on the Roman Republic, which allows the players to transform it into the Roman Empire if they so choose. The game developer has stated that the studio will try to maintain minimum system requirements as in Total War: Shogun 2. A new graphics engine has power the visuals of the game, & new unit cameras allow the players to focus on individual soldiers in the battlefield, that in itself may contain thousands of combatants at a time. The Creative Assembly has stated that they wish to bring out the more human side of the war this way along with soldiers reacting with horror as their comrades get killed around them & officers inspiring their men with heroic speeches before siege towers hit walls of the enemy city. Armies & navies will also have changeable stances on the campaign map. The stances determine many things among them total movement points per turn or the ability to deploy traps for an ambush. These will initially be called as Forced March that will enable an army to march further, but that will also tire out its men & reduce their fighting ability; Defensive Stance that will enable the player to place stakes & perhaps build temporary forts, & finally Ambush Stance, that will enable the placing of bales of hay which will be set alight & rolled into the enemy's formations when ambushing.
