Pokemon White 2 Game Review: Pokémon Black Version and White Version  ("Pocket Monsters: Black & White") are role playing games by Game Freak and Nintendo games. They are the first installments of the 5th generation of the Pokemon series of role play games. Released initially in Japan in 2010 they were then released in Europe in 2011 followed by North America on in 2011 and finally in Australia in March 2011. Similar to last installments of the Pokemon series, the two games follow along the quest of a young Pokemon trainer in the region of Nova, as they train their Pokemon to compete against other Pokemon trainers, while thwarting the plans of the criminal organization Plasma Team.Black and White introduce over 150 brand-new Pokemon characters to the Pokemon franchise, also many new features, including a season cycle, completely animated Pokemon sprites and triple battles to fight. Both titles are not dependent on each other, but mainly feature the same plot and while both can be played separately, exchanging Pokemon b/w both the games is essential in order to accomplish the game's Pokedex.When these were released, Black and White received positive responses as critics praised the advanced gameplay, also several of the new Pokemon that were introduced. Reviewers were though divided on some of the character designing while some critics thought that the games did not evovled as much as expected. All in all the games were commercially successful prior to the games Japanese version release, Black and White received one million consumer pre-orders and sold five million copies by January 2011 turning it into one of the best selling DS games up till now.As of 2012, the game's combined business have moved to 14.71 million putting the titles in the line of the best selling games for the Nintendo DS.Sequels to Pokemon Black and White known as Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 were then released in Japan for the Nintendo DS by June 2012 with October releases in USA,Australia, and also Europe.

Pokemon White 2 GamePlay: Pokémon Black and White are fine role playing games having adventure elements shown in a third-person overhead veiw. There are three basic and main veiws that are an overworld in which the player controls the main character,a menu and a battle screen in which the player configure their team,items, or gameplay settings. The game begins with a single Pokémon for a player while the player can capture more Pokemons using Poke Balls. When the player faces a stray Pokemon or gets a challenge by another trainer to a battle the screen veiw changes to a turn-based battle screen where the Pokemon can fight. In battle the player may fight, use a item, switch activated Pokemon, or flee (however this cannot be done in a battle against another trainer). All Pokemon have Health Points when a Pokemon's HP is reduced to none, it faints and cannot fight until it is revived by player. If an opposing Pokemon faints, then all of the player's Pokémon who defeated it receive experience points. After acquirung enough experience points it may climb level up. A Pokémon's level affects its battle stats, and a few Pokemon will evolve after reaching a certain level.The graphics have advanced from previous games and have many cutscenes. When conversation with people the dialog box has been switched with speech balloons, those are visible over other characters' heads this feature allows more than one character to speak at once. In addition to this upgrade players from Japan will be given an option to change  to having kanji appear in veiw  than just hiragana and katakana. In battles the sprites of the Pokemon are completely animated and the camera changes place to highlight particular parts of a battle.With the day and night cycle initially introduced in Gold and Silver games, Black and White brings  a season cycle, with the seasons advancing every month, cycling every four months,than just being linked to actual date calendar. Outside areas are seen differently depending on the season of that time such as color of leaves in autumn changes or snow falls on the ground in winter. Certain areas can be accessed during certain seasons and different Pokemon can be found in the woods in winter where others can be found in the other seasons. Alog with these features the Pokémon Deerling and Sawsbuck have been designed in such a way so as  to change their physical appearance with the seasons in the gameplay.A latest Pokemon capture mechanic was also brought forward in these games termed as "phenomena" in auxiliary materials. Occasionally, the player can see rustling patches of green grass and ripples of water. If a player enters the tile that features this phenomenon then they can discover either a very rare Pokemon thst is a Pokemon more in the other game version or the last  evolutionary form of a Pokémon that is normally found in that region. This is the only way to catch Pokemon like Audino, Emolga, and Alomomola. Along with these, dust clouds in caverns and the shadows of Pokemon in flight upoon certain bridges can also be entered to get  a rare item or face Drilbur, Excadrill, Ducklett, or Swanna, none of which can be found in the woods in the open.In standard battles and Gym challenges the player can take part in Pokémon Musicals competition which appears to be a side game common  to the Pokemon Contests of last  games,the Battle Subway is common to the Battle Towers and Battle Frontiers of previous titles.

Pokemon White 2 Game Ratings: Pokemon Black and White have got mostly positive reviews by critics,having an average score of 86.35% on GameRankings and 87% on Metacritic (this shows generally good reviews). Japanese magazine Famitsu Weekly gave this game a perfect 40/40 score thus making it the 15th game ro receive such a distinguished rank with this obtaining the toppest score ever awarded to a Pokemon video game by the Game Informer. Annette Gonzalez said that "Pokémon Black and White do a great job building upon already solid ground and taking them to the next stage." VideoGamer.com's Jamin Smith was critical for the game not innovating as much as some people would have appreciated, but stated that "rest assured in the that Black and White are extremely fine games the best the series can offer.The Official Nintendo Magazine considered them as "A beautiful refinement of a great series the best Pokémon ever". Nintendo Power suggested that "the Pokémon series's currrent pair of adventures is as addictive as ever. "IGN awarded the games a 9 out of 10 which is a high rating than any of the Nintendo DS Pokemon games.The review praised the games for renovating interest in this series, though it was critical of some of the new Pokémon designs, describing that "aside from a weaker lineup of monsters,this is the best Pokémon has to offer on every level".Jeremy Parish of Retronauts criticized Black and White,with his opinion that that shortly after starting, he grew tired of it as it was like all the games before it.
