Blazing Angels 2 Secret Missions OF WWII Game Review: Review: Secret Missions of WWII is a arcade style air combat video game. For an arcade shooter, the concept of the game is very interesting such as fly daring missions around the world during World War 2, with all kinds of prototype planes. Unfortunately, Ubisoft has wasted the concept with a game that is a total mess. Things like simplified flight model & unrealistic amount of armaments together with large number of opponents to shoot down. Any resemblance of reality is thrown out with features such as in-flight repairs & extra ammunition gained from shooting specially marked planes or ground targets. Special weapons available in the game also take a rapid turn from theoretically possible to pure science fiction along the way. The first mission introduces the player to the game by asking to perform 10 stunts with an old WWII plane in a present day air show. Stunt is apparently when the player flies really low over some spot with a blue spinning marker, and fly high through this gate held up by this balloon. Then the player gets a quick flashback to World War 2 & the story of the secret squadron begins. The real mission expects the player to fly over a train, & keep the plane there for a good while as the spy jumps off his Hurricane on top of the train. After delivering the spy the player is expected to blow up piles nearby ground troops, which includes their anti-aircraft batteries, somehow were sound asleep while the player pulled off silly stuff over the train. Later in the game, missions offer such gems like a massive armored Zeppelin, that the player cannot simply light up as it is filled with helium, so instead, the player have to wait until it opens the fighter bays, allowing him to deliver shots into them & once he has done the needed amount of damage, the thing goes up in flames anyway. Missions include numerous small scripting bugs, & it is not uncommon to have to try the mission several times because the script could not handle something unexpected happening. In Top of the World mission, the player are supposed to escort a hijacked bomber out of a mountain base in the Himalayas, and covering it from a pile of fighters.
