Pacific Fighters Game Review: Pacific Fighters is a flight combat title that takes place in the pacific theater during World War 2. Pacific Fighters was developed by 1C Company. It was published by Ubisoft and released on the 26th of October, 2004. Recreate some of the most decisive air battles of WW 2 & experience famous locations like Midway, Guadalcanal & Iwo Jima, where the courage of a single pilot could turn the tide of war. Pacific Fighters is backed by the Oleg Maddox team, who are the makers of the popular IL2 series. For the 1st time in the IL-2 series, the players can engage aircraft carriers in combat & utilize them to take off & land. The Players take control of more than forty different aircraft on both sides of the battle lines. There are 16 maps in the game include Guadalcanal, Pearl Harbor & Singapore. The Online multiplayer allow for dog fighting & cooperative missions. Contributions to World War II nicely covered with the obscurities of the Hungarian, Finnish, Danish & even Slovakian. The Pacific Fighters gives Oleg Maddox & his team of flight sim creating desk pilots a chance to stretch their muscles with a part of the war that is been somewhat better documented. Beside from perhaps simulating Arthur Lowe & Clive Dunn taking to the skies of Warmington Upon Sea in a rickety glider built from matchsticks, there was not really much left in the way of WW2 air combat for them to turn their attention to. The player does not need any of the previous IL-2 titles to run Pacific Fighters. It is a standalone. Whilst, if you do add it to IL-2: Forgotten Battles, it acts as an upgrade which enhances the existing mission content, aircraft choices & engine performance like some kind of game improving fairy godmother, without the risk of everything turning into a pumpkin just as the final slow dance of the night kicks in. Everything that happened in the Pacific theatre of war from the Pearl Harbor attack to the battles for Iwo Jima & Guadalcanal, all are pretty good.
