It is an indirect sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, developed & produced by Frictional Games. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is set in the same universe as the previous game, and features an entirely new cast of characters & time setting.
Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs Game Story: Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is set in 1899, that is 60 years after the first Amnesia, the story focuses on Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist. Oswald Mandus returns from a Disastrous expedition to Mexico, where tragedy struck. He hit by fever, and has frequent dreams about a dark machine until he regains consciousness. He does know little that months have passed, & upon awakening, Oswald Mandus hears the roar of an engine & a mysterious machine starts up. Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs features several real interlocking storylines. Some of them are took place in the past, while some in the present, & some are overtly real while some may be imagined.
Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs GamePlay Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is played from a 1st person perspective. It is confirmed that some elements of The Dark Descent have been removed, while other, some new elements have been added. One of the reasons is to provide a fresh gameplay experience to veteran players of The Dark Descent. The level design of the game has been touted as Significantly different from that of The Dark Descent, with larger areas & outdoor environments included. The AI is also being adjusted to ensure players are unable to predict enemy behaviour which are based on their experiences with the original game. Though, it has been confirmed by the developers that the core of the game Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs will remain the same as in The Dark Descent, as not to disappoint fans who want more of what they loved in the original. In an interview with Thomas Grip at Frictional Games, it has been confirmed that the Inventory has been removed.
