Sniper Elite V2 Game Review: Sniper Elite V2 2012 is tactical shooting game created by Rebellion Developments for PS3, Xbox 360, Windows and Wii U. This game is a remake of Rebellion's 2005 title Sniper Elite. The game is set in the same era and location as the Battle of Berlin in 1945, but now the protagonist, who is a US Office of Strategic Services officer, must capture or liquidate the scientists involved in the German V-2 rocket development program. A sequel is named "Sniper Elite 3" is planned for release in 2014.
Sniper Elite V2 Game's Story: The protagonist called Karl Fairburne, is an OSS agent who is inserted deep into Berlin in 1945, during the decisive days of World War 2. The plot revolves around Operation Paperclip and its predecessor Operation Overcast, the ingenious plan by the United States of America to recruit the scientists working for Nazi Germany. Fairburne have to face both Soviet and Nazi opponents as he tracks important individuals involved in the development as well as deployment of the one of the most feared weapons possessed by Nazi Germany i.e. the V-2 ballistic missile. The campaign starts off with a tutorial mission, where the player must take to task, a Nazi Major-General named Hans von Eisenberg who is attempting to defect to the Reds. The succeeding mission is a slightly modified version of the demo, where the gamer is dispatched to assassinate Dr. Günter Kreidl, a German scientist, and escape with his documents. After that, Fairburne infiltrates a V-2 missile production compound in search of another scientist named, Dr. Schwaiger, who;s intention is to defect to the US, but Fairburne is compromised and must fight his way out of the rocket building facility. Karl Fairburne then plans to steal a cache of explosives and blow up a bridge to distract the Nazis and the Soviets while he slips behind them and takes Schwaiger. This plan of his works and he heads off to a place named Opernplatz, where he finds Dr.Schwaiger, but is forced to hold off waves of Soviet soldiers who have found their position. Sniper Elite V2 GamePlay: Sniper Elite V-2 is tactical shooter played from a third-person perspective that focuses on a less direct approach to armed combat, encouraging the gamer as a sniper to maintain stealth and keep distance from enemy troops. Many of the single player stages enable multiple ways for the gamers to take, ranging from side streets to multi-story buildings in order to get vantage points for a clean shot and avoid direct confrontation. Set in WWII, the gamer character employs the appropriate weaponry suited for the era. Our sniper rifle is the main weapon used throughout the course of the game, though secondary arms including pistols and SMGs, silenced or not depending on the sensitivity of the mission. Along with hand grenades, the gamer can plant them as tripwire dynamite, booby traps and land mines.
