Virtua Tennis 4 Game Review: Virtua Tennis 4 is the third game in line to Sega's tennis sports game franchise Virtua Tennis. Released on Wii,PS3, Microsoft Windows,PlayStation Vita and finally Xbox 360 . Virtua Tennis 4 is also being developed for a 4 player stick oriented arcade.
Virtua Tennis 4 GamePlay: The game features the PlayStation Move controller on the PS3,the Wii MotionPlus on the Wii and the Kinect on the Xbox 360. All previously mentioned peripherals are optional. Virtua Tennis 4 enables the player to assume the role of some of the world's best tennis professionals. The game has stereoscopic 3D on the PS3. When the PlayStation Move is used the protagonist moves are automatic but each movement of the racquet must be carried out by the player and one can drop back,run to the net by actually stepping to and fro. There is a complex camera system in place so as the ball is in the other half of the tennis court the camera pans out so that one can find out one's position.When the ball is moving to the player, it glides into a first person view where the player can really see their racquet in front of themselves and time their swing accordingly. The player can twist the racquet to adjust its face when it connects with the ball, allowing skilled players to apply spin.
Virtua Tennis 4 Rating: GameZone awarded Virtua Tennis 2011 a 6/10 and stated "By and large, Virtua Tennis 4 does stick strongly to its roots, bringing enough challenge to lure a large number of audience. Although study to be conducted of similar titles would be useful such that these updated features could find their way into the franchise.
